Interview with Lisa Pinney – Coal Authority

Lisa Pinney is the CEO of the Coal Authority. She describes herself as the company’s ED&I Champion and is passionate about the role of networks in her organisation. Here she shares her thoughts on the power of networks as a voice of and safe space for employees, talks about the impact COVID has had on the organisation and how she sees the growth of networks as critical for the organisation’s future success.

Interview with Keela Shackell-Smith – Cabinet Office

Keela Shackell-Smith is the Diversity and Inclusion Manager at the Cabinet Office. She comes from a background in establishing both LGBT and Women’s Networks. In this video she talks about how networks have had an impact on policy setting, how important rewarding network volunteers for their efforts is and how the Parents Network innovated quickly to respond to the COVID situation.

Simon is the inclusion consultant at Royal London Group, who are in the early stages of network development. Here he talks about creating the right environment for networks to emerge and growing membership through events with broad appeal.

 

Interview with Alan Holmes – Lockheed Martin Corporation

Alan is the International Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Lockheed Martin, a multinational defence company with over 100,000 employees across the world. They have strong employee networks in the United States and locally in Europe and Australia, but are working on the launch of new worldwide networks to link employees with shared characteristics.

Interview with Donna Fraser – UK Athletics

Donna Fraser competed in the Olympics for Great Britain and is the Equality, Diversity and Engagement Lead at UK Athletics. Before this she founded and led a BAME Network in EDF Energy and is a previous ENLP participant. In this video she explains how she and the organisation’s first ever employee network focussing on the LGBT+ community, is breaking new ground in Athletics and challenging the sector to consider how to run sporting events for non-binary and transgender athletes.
